The GMVS Junior Program provides young racers the opportunity to realize their potential while learning the fundamentals of an exciting sport they can enjoy for the rest of their lives. Athletes are exposed to the positive aspects of competition, the value of setting and pursuing goals, and the benefits of hard work.

All programs provide age-appropriate programming focused on skill development and race techniques. We teach FUNdamentals in an energetic environment that takes advantage of the world-class terrain at Sugarbush Resort and includes a healthy combination of free-skiing and gate training.

Racing is an essential component of all GMVS junior programs. All athletes will be encouraged to participate in Vermont’s Northern Vermont Council (NVC) or other races as appropriate. NVC races may be hosted by any of the seven mountains that make up VARA’s Northern Vermont Council: Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, Cochran’s, Stowe, Burke, Jay Peak and Smugglers Notch.

For more information about the GMVS Junior Program, please contact Megan Mikell ([email protected]), GMVS Junior Program Director.

Looking for More On-Snow Time?

Join Us for Mid Week Training!

Mid week training creates opportunities for more time on snow allowing our athletes to solidify technical and tactical fundamentals of skiing, while stoking their passion for the sport, which ultimately develops stronger skiers and ski racers. Fun and focus, coupled with a safe training environment, are at the center of our program. If ski racing is your passion, Mid week training can also be your building block and the gateway to the GMVS middle school.

All mid week training will be held at Sugarbush and the Kelly Brush arena. Our program will run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30-4:00pm starting December 10, 2024 thru March 29, 2025. This program is appropriate for U10’s – U14’s. Programming will be age and skill appropriate. Mid Week athletes will receive a locker as a part of their program fee.

**There will be no programs during school vacations. All scheduled training is dependent on weather and snow conditions**”
