Brandon Herhusky
Nordic Program Director
Brandon joins GMVS from the University of New Hampshire where he served as their Assistant Nordic Coach and is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology. Prior to UNH, Brandon worked in club settings at Sugar Bowl Academy, Eastern Massachusetts Cross Country Skiing (EMXC), and perennial powerhouse Mansfield Nordic (MNC) as well as in the competitive collegiate environments of Harvard University and the University of Vermont. Throughout his coaching career, Brandon has worked with aspiring athletes of all ages; he served as a U18 coach and wax tech at Junior Nationals, and for the U.S. National Team in February 2023 in Jyvaskyla, Finland.
A ski academy graduate himself, Brandon holds a B.S. from the University of Alaska where he also participated as a member of their Nordic ski team before pursuing his coaching career. Brandon’s experience as both a coach and student-athlete at Sugar Bowl Academy, provides him with a firsthand understanding of the transformative impact academy environments can have on young athletes. Brandon’s coaching philosophy is rooted in physiology, athlete wellness, and a team-first approach that emphasizes long-term athlete development and positive team culture. Brandon is excited by the opportunity to help students build skills, confidence, and curiosity through the sport of Nordic skiing and is eager to help lead the GMVS Nordic team into its next chapter.
