BKL Power Camp with GMVS

Give your BKL skier the opportunity to grow, challenge themselves, and have fun at the GMVS Power Camp! This two-day camp is designed for 5th–8th grade cross-country skiers who want to build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of the sport.
Hosted in partnership with Green Mountain Valley School (GMVS) and NENSA, this camp combines expert coaching and exciting on-snow experiences in a positive, encouraging environment.
Location & Dates
Based on the GMVS campus in Waitsfield, Vermont, with ski sessions at Rikert Outdoor Center in Ripton, VT and Blueberry Lake XC Center in Warren, VT
Transportation will be provided from GMVS to Rikert and Blueberry Lake both days. Families may also choose morning drop-off at Rikert and afternoon pickup at Blueberry Lake if more convenient.
Who Should Attend
- 5th–8th grade Nordic skiers
- Beginner to advanced racers (prior ski experience required)
- Athletes looking to improve technique and confidence
- Skiers who enjoy being active and learning in a fun, team-oriented setting
No matter your experience level, you’ll leave stronger, faster, and more confident on your skis.
Daily Schedule (Draft)
Day 1
- 8:15 AM – Depart GMVS for Rikert Outdoor Center
- 9:00–11:00 AM – Skate technique, agility, and games
- 12:00 PM – Lunch on GMVS campus (provided in the GMVS dining hall)
- 1:00–3:00 PM – Afternoon indoor activities on campus
- 3:30 – 4:45 PM – Skate session at Blueberry Lake XC Center
- 5:00 PM – Pickup at GMVS Campus
Day 2
- 8:15 AM – Depart GMVS for Rikert Outdoor Center
- 9:00–11:00 AM – Classic technique and distance adventure
- 12:00 PM – Lunch on GMVS campus (provided in the GMVS dining hall)
- 1:00–3:00 PM – Afternoon indoor activities on campus
- 3:30 – 4:45 PM – Classic session/camp wrap-up at Blueberry Lake XC Center
- 5:00 PM – Pickup at GMVS Campus
What to Bring
- Cross-country skis (skate and classic)
- Poles and boots
- Warm layers for both ski sessions and extra clothing for between when we’re on campus
- Hat, gloves, and neck gaiter, sunglasses recommended
- Water bottle/drink belt and snacks
- Indoor shoes for gym time (clean, dry sneakers)
- Notebook and writing implement
- Lunch will be provided in the GMVS dining hall.
