2022 Theatre Production – Newsies

GMVS will proudly present Disney’s Newsies this fall, October 20-22, 2022!

Inspired by the New York Newsboy Strike of 1899, Newsies tells the story of young workers banding together to fight for a livable wage through heart-stopping dance numbers and a heavenly score.

Adapted from the 1992 Disney film starring a young Christian Bale, the stage musical hit the Great White Way in March 2012, it quickly became a sensation. Penned by Jack Murphy and legendary composer, Alan Menken (Aladdin, Hercules, Tangled, Little Shop of Horrors), Newsies played 1,000 performances and garnered a cult-like fandom.

This show and story are perfect for the GMVS community because, at its heart, Newsies is about young people coming together to fight for what they believe in. As elite athletes, our students work hard both individually and as a team to push the limits of what is possible. Newsies will challenge these young actors to sing out, jump high, and open their minds and hearts to a historic movement.

GMVS Annual Golf Tournament and Fundraiser

Celebrate the beginning of summer with your closest GMVS friends during a friendly (and sometimes a bit competitive!) game of golf at the beautiful Sugarbush Resort Golf Club. Register as an individual and rally your teammates to do the same, OR sign up as a sponsor and you'll find greens fees included. Proceeds benefit all GMVS athletes on their path to pursuing their dreams.

Damn Yankees

With a timeless score and a hilarious plot, this highly anticipated event promises to captivate audiences and showcase the extraordinary talents of GMVS students. Set to take the stage in the Dave Gavett Theater at GMVS,  "Damn Yankees" is a beloved musical that combines the magic of baseball with the allure of the supernatural. With its unforgettable tunes, high-energy dance numbers, and a heartwarming storyline, this production is sure to be a home run!

Bike ‘n Brew OR Summit, Stretch, and Socialize

Enjoy the best of the Valley in good company with alumni, club members, parents, and friends. Join GMVS staff members for a guided tour of the Mad River Valley with our NEW Bike 'n Brew event, followed by drinks at Lawson's Finest Liquids. Or, enjoy a scenic hike with GMVS staff members with our Summit, Stretch, and Socialize event. Meet at Sugarbush's Lincoln Peak, followed by yoga at the base of Gadd Brook, and ending with tasty drinks and appetizers. Kelly Brush Ride

On Saturday, September 11th, riders gathered at Middlebury College for the 16th Annual Kelly Brush Ride in support of the Kelly Brush Foundation (KBF) and ski racing safety. The morning greeted participants with bluebird skies, warm rays of sunshine, and a caring community that raised over $800,000 for the KBF. Thank you to members of the GMVS community, including alumni, parents, staff, and friends, who attended in support of the event — we thoroughly enjoyed riding with you, and thank you for supporting such an important cause.
