World Languages Teacher
Green Mountain Valley School (GMVS), is seeking a full-time language teacher beginning in August of 2025.
Candidates for this position should have the ability to teach a range of language classes, in either French or Spanish. Our curriculum follows a traditional curriculum sequence, in a nontraditional environment, with opportunities to develop subject-specific electives at the advanced level. Candidates should be able to use technology effectively to support student learning and engagement, and be interested in ongoing professional growth. Candidates must also be comfortable working one-on-one with students, and be accessible and proactive in providing extra-help. A commitment to professional development and student-centered learning are expected. Opportunities for professional growth within this position exist.
Responsibilities in this position include teaching four to five sections of French and/or Spanish, across multiple levels, and supporting a diverse range of students’ needs and schedules. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to differentiate within each classroom, as well as design asynchronous learning units in support of remote and traveling students. Successful candidates will be team-oriented, possess strong communication skills, be highly organized and flexible.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, faculty members are fully involved in the co-curricular programs of the school. All members of the faculty are participating members of our Student Life Program which includes all-school orientation, community service and periodic weeknight and weekend duties. These duties entail activity planning, student support, and campus supervision. Candidates should be able to work collaboratively with teachers, coaches and student-athletes, have a valid driver’s license, and meet the professional requirements of the state and school, including passing a state background check.
As one of the country’s premiere ski academies, GMVS develops students with a life-long love of learning, sport, and adventure. Green Mountain Valley School is a boarding and day school in Waitsfield, VT serving 135 students in grades 6-PG. A Bachelor’s Degree and prior teaching experience at the secondary school level are required. A Master’s Degree and independent school experience are preferred.
Alpine Coaches
Multiple positions are available at both the Academy and within the Junior Race Program.
Candidates must have a passion for skiing, demonstrate a strong commitment to athlete development, and have a proven track record of quickly developing rapport and helping athletes continuously improve. Candidates should value access to world class training facilities, show a keen interest in supporting athletes throughout the year, and understand the tenets of long term athlete development. In addition, candidates must be effective communicators, well organized and prepared to lead and manage a small group of athletes.
