GMVS will proudly present Disney’s Newsies this fall, October 20-22, 2022!
Inspired by the New York Newsboy Strike of 1899, Newsies tells the story of young workers banding together to fight for a livable wage through heart-stopping dance numbers and a heavenly score.
Adapted from the 1992 Disney film starring a young Christian Bale, the stage musical hit the Great White Way in March 2012, it quickly became a sensation. Penned by Jack Murphy and legendary composer, Alan Menken (Aladdin, Hercules, Tangled, Little Shop of Horrors), Newsies played 1,000 performances and garnered a cult-like fandom.
This show and story are perfect for the GMVS community because, at its heart, Newsies is about young people coming together to fight for what they believe in. As elite athletes, our students work hard both individually and as a team to push the limits of what is possible. Newsies will challenge these young actors to sing out, jump high, and open their minds and hearts to a historic movement.
We are thrilled to have the chance to tell this story and together seize the day!

Celebrate the beginning of summer with your closest GMVS friends during a friendly (and sometimes a bit competitive!) game of golf at the beautiful Sugarbush Resort Golf Club. Register as an individual and rally your teammates to do the same, OR sign up as a sponsor and you'll find greens fees included. This year also includes a special celebration the Mad River Valley for the following graduation years: 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020 Proceeds benefit all GMVS athletes on their path to pursuing their dreams.

Join GMVS staff members for a guided tour of the Mad River Valley with our NEW Bike 'n Brew event, followed by drinks at Lawson's Finest Liquids. Or, enjoy a scenic hike with GMVS staff members with our Summit, Stretch, and Socialize event. Meet at Sugarbush's Lincoln Peak, followed by yoga at the base of Gadd Brook, and ending with tasty drinks and appetizers. Register for one, or make it a weekend and add Friday's golf tournament (link below).

GMVS is excited to celebrate the Class of 2025 as they conclude a year marked by academic achievement, athletic excellence, and unforgettable experiences. The year will culminate in a heartfelt commencement ceremony, where each graduate will share personal reflections on their time at GMVS. With inspiring speeches, recognition of outstanding achievements, and plenty of adventure, graduation is always a bittersweet farewell.
