Green Mountain Valley School is pleased to announce David Kent as the Theater Director for the fall production of Legally Blonde. David has more than 25 years of experience on Broadway and also competed through college as a high-level ski racer.
As Associate Choreographer, Director of the Dance Department, and a performer for the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit musical, Chicago, Kent prepared actors, singers and dancers for performances worldwide. He worked with dozens of celebrities and Broadway veterans, including Charlotte d’Amboise, Ruthie Henshall, Christie Brinkley, Usher, Backstreet Boys, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Sophia Vergara. His theatrical credits include, but are not limited to, Chicago, Cats, Driving Miss Daisy, The Color Purple, Jesus Christ Superstar, Tommy, Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, Carnival, Carousel, Evita, The Wizard of Oz, Oliver, Gentleman Prefer Blondes, Little Me, Man of La Mancha, Romeo and Juliet the Rock Musical.
David grew up in Cazenovia, New York, and ski raced throughout childhood. He graduated from Holderness, did several PG years at Whiteface, skied NorAm and International FIS races, and was once ranked among the Top 25 Giant Slalom racers in the U.S. He attended University of New Hampshire where he was Ski Team Captain, EISA All East, and Student-Athlete of the Year. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Physical Education/Kinesiology.
David first worked with GMVS on the production of Cats six years ago. “I was truly impressed with the work ethic of the GMVS student-athletes athletes that year and, consequently, I continued to cut more and more time out of my schedule in subsequent years to be part of the GMVS productions.”
We are thrilled and honored to have him on board as the Theater Director!
