Nordic Skiing

GMVS offers a unique opportunity for developing junior cross-country and biathlon athletes. Coaches train alongside athletes and inspire them to achieve their personal goals, both on and off the trail.

We offer individualized training programs tailored to meet each skier’s specific goals. Athletes travel to world-class venues throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. The majority of our dry land training is conducted in our hilly backyard, right here in the Mad River Valley where our athletes run, hike, mountain bike, road bike, rollerski and adventure. In the winter, we ski at Middlebury College’s Rikert Nordic Center, the Outdoor Center in Craftsbury, the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Ole’s in Warren, and the Ethan Allen Biathlon Range in Jericho.

The GMVS Racing Performance Center offers outstanding fitness and ski preparation facilities. Throughout the year, we have access to physiological testing as well as on site physical therapy. Our athletes range from 7th grade through high school, as well as post-graduates taking time to focus on skiing between high school and college. Many of our alumni have gone on to ski at competitive colleges and universities, including Bates, Dartmouth, Harvard, Middlebury, Williams, University of New Hampshire, and University of Vermont.

GMVS also warmly welcomes guest athletes to train with us during a variety of training camps throughout the year. You can follow the team on our GMVS Nordic Blog
