October 15, 2015: On October 22, 23 and 24 at 7:30 PM, Green Mountain Valley School (GMVS) will perform its annual fall theater production of c. The Doug Parker Auditorium has been transformed this year with new comfortable seating, improved acoustics, and a large orchestra pit.
The musical production of Les Misérables is based on the novel by French poet and novelist Victor Hugo. Set against the backdrop of revolutionary France, Les Misérables portrays the story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant, and his quest for redemption after serving nineteen years in jail for having stolen a loaf of bread. October 8th marked the 30th anniversary of the show’s first performance on Broadway.
“Students started preparing for the show last December,” says Headmaster Dave Gavett, “and they have been working with greater intensity for the past two months. We are excited to put on a great show.”
