All-State Lacrosse Honors

June 17, 2012 ~ The Vermont lacrosse coaches announced their all-state honorees, and GMVS is well represented. From the State Champion boys’ team, seniors Hans Halvorsen and Mitch Grimmer were named to the first team. Halvorsen was one of the most dangerous attackmen in the state, and Grimmer established himself as a playmaker throughout the year, and he had the assists on the final two goals in the championship game. This makes Hans and Mitch eligible for the Twin State game against New Hampshire, which will be held in Hanover, NH on June 23. Sophomore defenseman Neil Gallagher was also named to the first team, which is quite an achievement for such a young player. If you attended any of our games this season, you would know why Neil caught the coaches’ eye. Attackman Sam Worley, who is the team’s leading returning goal scorer, was named to the second team.

For the girls, senior Dani LeBlanc and junior Kelly Glander earned Honorable Mention kudos. Glander, Eklutna Kenney and Olivia Frank were also named to play in the Rising Stars game in Middlebury, an honor given the best non-seniors in the state.

Congratulations to all!
