US Ski Team Names Six GMVS Athletes to Camp Projects

May 5, 2012 ~

As a nod to their outstanding efforts in ski racing, six GMVS athletes have been invited to a pair of US Ski Team camps this month. AJ Ginnis ’11 (currently ranked #1 in his age in the US in slalom, #3 in the world), Danny Duffy ’12 (#1 in US in GS, #11 in the world) and Sandy Vietze ’11 will leave this weekend for a 2-week US Development Team Tryout Camp. That camp, designed to select members of the Development Team, will consist of a few days of physical testing at the US Ski Team’s Center of Excellence in Park City, then an on-snow camp at Mammoth Mountain, California.

Another group of 3 guys will be headed to a Super G and GS camp, held in conjunction with the Development Team camp at Mammoth. Those named are Drew Duffy (ranked #1 for his age group in the US in GS, #11 in the world), Ryan Mooney ’14 (#3 in GS for the US) and Brian McLaughlin ’11.

This is a tremendous honor for these guys, and we wish them the best of luck at the camps!
