GMVS owns a house in Koessen, Austria staffed by GMVS' internationally respected European Coordinator, Mike Loidl. The Koessen house serves as a base for GMVS students when training and racing in Europe. It is located in the heart of the ski racing world, less than a two hour drive from Munich, a 1 hour drive from Innsbruck, and 45 minutes from either Kitzbühel or Salzburg. The GMVS European campus provides our athletes with access to some of the best ski training sites in the world and training at venues where they will ski side by side with World Cup Racers - the finest ski racing role models. Athletes who travel to Europe will train at venues such as Steinplatte, Hintertux, Kitzbuhel (home of the Streif, the most difficult downhill trail in the world), Koessen and Maria Alm. GMVS' European facilities provide the GMVS athletes with the opportunity to ski on terrain with features that are not found in the United States.
